Disclaimer

This disclaimer explains the limits of what GoethéB1 (b1goethe.com), a free and independent Goethe B1 exam trainer, does and does not promise — including that it is not affiliated with the Goethe-Institut and does not use official exam questions.

Not affiliated with the Goethe-Institut

GoethéB1 is an independent study tool. It is not affiliated with, authorized, sponsored, endorsed by, or connected to the Goethe-Institut e.V. in any way. "Goethe-Institut", "Goethe-Zertifikat", and related names are trademarks of their respective owner. We reference them only descriptively, to identify the examination that this Service helps you prepare for.

Practice materials, not official exam content

All questions, texts, audio, and tasks on this Service are original practice materials we created to resemble the format and level of the Goethe-Zertifikat B1 exam. They are not real, current, or past official exam questions, and they are not copied or reproduced from Goethe-Institut materials. The official exam may differ in content, format, and difficulty.

No guarantee of results

We do not guarantee that using this Service will result in passing the Goethe-Zertifikat B1 exam or achieving any particular score. Exam results depend on many factors outside our control, including your own preparation and performance. Practice scores on this Service are indicative only and do not predict your official result.

Educational information only

Content on this Service is provided for general educational purposes only. It is not professional, legal, certification, or immigration advice. For official information about the exam, registration, and recognition, please consult the Goethe-Institut and the relevant authorities directly.

In plain terms

GoethéB1 is a free, independent practice tool. It is not the Goethe-Institut, and passing our mock exams is not the same as passing the official Goethe-Zertifikat B1. Use it to get comfortable with the exam format, find your weak modules, and build confidence — then register for the real exam through the Goethe-Institut or another official test centre.

The questions, texts, and audio here are original materials we wrote to match the level and structure of the real exam. They are not copied from official papers and will not be identical to what you see on exam day. A high practice score is a good sign, but not a guarantee; a low one is a prompt to keep practising, not a verdict.

Nothing on this site is legal, immigration, or certification advice. For binding information about the exam, recognition of certificates, citizenship, or residence, always check with the Goethe-Institut and the relevant German authorities, for example the Ausländerbehörde, Einbürgerungsbehörde, or BAMF. If you spot a mistake in a practice question, tell us at hello [at] b1goethe.com and we will review it.
