Germany is naturalizing more people than ever before: 332,524 naturalizations (Einbürgerungen) in 2025 (preliminary result) — after the previous record year 2024 with 292,020. This page collects all figures from the official statistics, per year and per Bundesland (federal state), and is updated annually.

Why are the numbers rising so sharply? Germany's citizenship law was reformed in June 2024: dual citizenship has been generally permitted since then, and the minimum residence period dropped from 8 to usually 5 years. Requirements still include a language certificate at B1 level and a passed Einbürgerungstest (citizenship test). The fast-track 3-year route (with C1) was abolished on 30 October 2025.
